Becoming a Student Assistant
Learn how to get professionally involved in teaching and supporting international students.
Student Assistants are valuable members of staff who can contribute to the success of our English Success for International Students project.
This program allows you to:
- Understanding the principles of good education
- Learn study skills, facilitation techniques and conversations that often take up the majority of mentoring group meeting time.
- Understand active learning, objective-based instruction, and other teaching and learning activities.
- Learn techniques to support your students and motivate them to learn English and practice it correctly.
- Know formative assessment techniques, assessment and feedback tasks.
- Develop professional behavior in an academic context. Student assistants must be responsible, committed, take initiative and treat information confidentially while respecting the culture of the organization.
- Learn classroom management, handling difficult teaching situations and giving status reports.
